United Titanium earns spot on Defense Logistics Agency qualified suppliers list
WOOSTER, Ohio (Sept. 18, 2019) — United Titanium, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialty metal fasteners, fittings and mill products, announced today that its Service Center earned placement on the Qualified Suppliers List (QSL) for bulk metals for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
The DLA is the nation's combat logistics support agency. It manages the global supply chain for the United States Armed Forces, as well as 10 combatant commands, other federal agencies, and partner and allied nations. As an approved supplier, United Titanium's Service Center is pre-qualified to supply bulk materials through the DLA's network.
"When it comes to manufacturing and suppling parts for the defense industry, you have to get it right every time," said United Titanium President Michael Reardon. "Our company has always held our products and materials to the highest possible industry standards through comprehensive testing and quality assurance. This DLA-qualification reaffirms that to our customers."
Through an audit, United Titanium demonstrated that it had controls in-place to comply with the established QSL criteria, providing maximum assurance that their products adhere to the necessary specifications.
United Titanium stocks a wide-selection of specialty materials that offer the strength and performance needed in the defense industry, including Titanium grades 2, 5, 7 and 23 (6Al-4V ELI) and Zirconium grades 702 and 705.
"Our team takes great pride in knowing that the materials and parts we manufacture and supply are used to aid our nation's defense, whether it's on an aircraft carrier or submarine" said David LaBuda, defense business development and sales representative at United Titanium. "We appreciate the enormous responsibility, knowing that lives depend on the quality of our work."
