Alloy C2000

Alloy C-2000 (UNS N06200) along with the other C-type alloys (UNS N10276) is a quite versatile Ni-Cr-Mo alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, stress-corrosion cracking, and crevice corrosion.

The technical objective of the design of C-2000 was even greater versatility, as compared with the traditional Ni-Cr-Mo alloys.  This was accomplished by use of a high chromium content (23%), a high molybdenum content (16%), and a small but effective addition of copper (1.6%).  The copper was found to provide enhanced temperature capability in sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and dilute hydrochloric acid.  A Ni-Cr-Mo-W alloy, C-22 offers resistance to pitting, stress-corrosion cracking, and crevice corrosion.
